A Seasonal Scent & a Simple Treat

Petite Orange Cranberry Scones
Yield: 16 petite scones
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
½ cup sugar
½ tsp salt
½ cup shortening (or cold/frozen butter)
⅔ cup milk
⅓ cup Craisins (dried cranberries)
1 tsp orange flavoring (organic if possible)
Zest of 1 large orange
Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1½ Tbsp milk
½ tsp orange flavoring
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Add milk, cranberries, and orange flavoring; stir until just combined.
5. Divide dough in half and pat each portion into a 1-inch-thick circle on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
6. Cut each circle into 8 wedges.
7. Bake 12–15 minutes or until golden.
8. Mix icing ingredients and drizzle over warm scones.
